Türkiye, forming a bridge between Europe and Asia, has special maritime interests due to its important geopolitical position in the Black Sea, Aegean Sea, and Eastern Mediterranean. Within the scope of our country’s maritime interests and needs, the School was established as the first higher education unit in Turkey providing education in maritime business and management, affiliated with Dokuz Eylül University Rectorate, with the approval of the Higher Education Council dated 14.01.1988.
Education is provided in the Departments of Maritime Business Administration, Marine Transport Engineering, Marine Engineering, and Logistics Management. The language of instruction is English.
In its meeting dated 06.01.2010, the Higher Education Executive Board approved the renaming of the ‘Deck Department’ to ‘Department of Marine Transport Engineering’ and the ‘Engine Department’ to ‘Department of Marine Engineering’.
